Overview (Official Description): In the near future, personal computers take the form of toys figures, animals or even people, called Persocoms (persocoms actually means PC or personal computer in Japanese). Hideki Motosuwa is a poor student who failed his entrance exams to get into college. So, Hideki is forced to move to the city, get a job, and attend cram school in hopes of passing the next college entrance exam. He of course, wants a Persocom for himself, but is way too poor to afford one. One day, while passing a building, He finds a Persocom in a trash heap. However, his new find doesn't seem to be like the others he's heard about. She doesn't seem to have any operating system at all, and only says "Chii". As Hideki learns more about his Persocom (aptly named "Chii"), he finds that she is not of any known type, and most likely some sort of homemade model. He also learns of the rumor of the "Chobits", Persocoms with the ability to think for themselves, instead of running only complex programs. What is this mysterious persocom and why was she in the trash? Hideki has a mystery to solve and still pass his classes at the same time.

Overview (Official Description): Natsume has always been an outcast because he inherited his grandmother Reiko's ability to see yokai (strange beings that are invisible to most people). After moving to his grandmother's hometown and accidentally releasing a yokai who was imprisoned in a Lucky Cat statue, he learns about one of his grandmother's keepsakes, her "Book of Friends," which contains the names of the yokai she defeated, and allows its wielder to command the yokai named within. Since then, his life has gotten much more hectic, and yokai now visit him on a daily basis, seeking to either get their names back or take possession of the Book of Friends.

Overview (Official Description): Jin Kanzaki is poor, but he lives a happy life with his grandfather. Together with his friends Kouga and Konoha, he helps out people for a fee. Meanwhile, the police are searching for a vicious serial killer. Jin comes home one day to find his grandfather lying in a pool of his own blood. Unable to understand that his grandfather is dead, Jin wanders the streets in shock. Unknown to Jin, he is next on the killer’s list!

After the first victim's story, the police felt the overly stressed woman was having a breakdown and lied to cover-up for some crime. However, after the third and fourth attacks upon unrelated victims led to the same description of a young attacker with a golden baseball bat and in-line skates, the police had to wonder- is the "Lil' Slugger" real or a sinister phantom?
