Welcome to the Bloomsburg University Manga and Anime Club (BUMAC) webpage. We hold free public showings of anime every Monday and Thursday at 8:00 p.m. in Bakeless Center Room 105. Please enjoy your stay and we hope to see you at the next meeting!

At our eleventh summer meeting we watched Special A.
Overview:
“Her whole life, Hikari Hanazono has been consumed with the desire to
win against her school rival, Kei Takishima--at anything. He always
comes out on top no matter what he does, and Hikari is determined to do
whatever it takes to beat this guy...somehow!At age 6 Hikari lost to
Kei in an impromptu wrestling match. Now, at 15, Hikari joins "Special
A," a group of the top seven students at a private academy, for the
opportunity to trounce the guy who made her suffer her first defeat.”

At our tenth summer meeting we watched Here is Greenwood.
Overview: “Kazuya Hasukawa's belongs to only one woman, but the day she moved in was the worst day of his life. Why? Because she is moving in to be his brother's wife. Distraught and desperate to escape his heartache, Kazuya leaves home and puts his fate in the fickle hands of dormitory life. He finds himself exiled to Greenwood, a housing facility for outcasts. Will Kazuya retain his sanity, or will Greenwood live up to its reputation as an asylum?”

Otakon 2009 was spectacular! At least a dozen past and present members of BUMAC
attended. We will have many pictures soon. See you at Otakon 2010 from July 30th - August 1st next year!

It’s that time of the year…ITS OTAKON TIME! Though not in any official
capacity, many past and present members of BUMAC will be attending this
year. We will see you all there!

At our ninth summer meeting we watched Monster.
Overview:
“Brilliant doctor Kenzo Tenma risks his reputation and promising career
to save the life of a critically wounded young boy. Unbeknownst to him,
this child is destined for a terrible fate. Conspiracies, serial
murders, and a scathing depiction of the underbelly of hospital
politics are all masterfully woven together in this compelling manga
thriller.”

At our eighth summer meeting we watched Rumbling Hearts.
Overview:
“Meet four high school friends - Haruka, Takayuki, Mitsuki and Shinji.
Life's promise shines brightly on them until an accident leaves Haruka
in a coma. Her boyfriend, Takayuki, can't forgive himself and seems
determined to follow Haruka into a comatose state. Mitsuke dedicates
her life to taking care of this tragic young man, and the pair fall
into a relationship floundering in guilt. When Haruka awakens after
three years, everyone must pretend no time has passed, Torn between his
unhappy real-life relationship with Mitsuki and the daydream highschool
romance with Haruka, Takayuki feels the tiny silver lining left in his
life being mercilessly and methodically stripped away.”
