FINAL SUMMER MEETING - Twelfth Summer Meeting: Please Teacher!
August 12, 2011, 8:58 pm by Webmaster

At our twelfth and final summer meeting for 2011 we watched Please Teacher!
Overview: Kei Kusanagi isn't your typical 15 year old high school student.
He's actually an 18 year old with a rare disorder that puts him into
what he calls, a "standstill". When he was younger, this disorder left
him in a deep coma which stunted his growth for the next three years! Mizuho Kazami isn't your typical teacher either. She's actually
an alien sent by the Galaxy Federation to observe the Earth! As the sole
human being with knowledge of Ms. Kazumi's secret, Kei must marry the
alien?! Homework, dating, and a gorgeous wife going to school has never
been quite this fun!
Thanks to all those who attended and made another year
of summer meetings a success. Hope you all had a good time and see
you in the fall! - The officers of BUMAC

At our eleventh summer meeting we watched Lunar Legend Tsukihime.
Overview: Shiki Tohno has a secret. As the result of a childhood injury, he can
see the lines of energy that bind all things together... and by
severing those lines he can destroy almost anything! Only a special pair
of glasses that mute his extraordinary perceptions have kept him sane,
but his attempts at living a "normal" life come to a shocking end when
he is approached by a strange and dangerous woman with her own
terrifying secret. Now Shiki is fighting both for his life and to unravel the secrets of
his own past; for even with a mysterious female vampire as an ally, how
can anyone defeat an enemy whose power is to always be reborn?

Overview (From Wikipedia): Kenshi Masaki is a 15 year-old boy that unwillingly traveled from his home
on Earth to the alternate world of Geminar. In Geminar, the countries wage wars
using Seikijin, humanoid weapons that were originally discovered within ancient
ruins. After being tricked by a mysterious organization into participating in
an attempt to assassinate Lashara Earth XXVIII, the young princess of the
Streya Empire, he ends up captured after he chooses not to kill her. When
Lashara hears the truth, she decides to help.
Remember, our meetings are on
Wednesdays from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. in Centennial Hall Room 239 and

RIP Borders Group 1971-2011

Sadly, we lost the largest bookstore chain in our area, Borders Group with 3 stores closing. We remain hopeful that the court approves the sale of those 3 stores to the Books-A-Million company as it has been proposed. Borders Group 1971-2011.
